Las Vegas attractions
There are a million and one things to see and do whilst on your package holiday to Las Vegas and many of them are either free or have just a minimal cost. Below you will find a brief list containing just some of the many tourist attractions to be found in Vegas, a lot of which are hosted by the main resort hotels.

Bellagio Fountains
The Bellagio Fountains are one of the most popular free attractions
in Las Vegas. It is a distinguishing attraction of the
Bellagio Hotel and is a light and sound show, coupled with a
quite phenomenal fountain display. The Bellagio Fountains are
situated on an eight acre lake, located in front of the hotel and
are reputed to be one of the most complex and impressive water
features that have ever been designed. Spanning over 1,000 feet in
length and containing more than 1,000 water nozzles that coordinate
with over 4,000 lights.

Gallery of Fine Art at the Bellagio
Located within the
Bellagio Hotel you'll find the Gallery of Fine Art, Las Vegas'
premier art exhibit and a must-see attraction for all art lovers.
Inside you can expect to view the finest examples of painting,
sculpture and other impressive work by some of the world's most
influential and renowned artists such as Picasso, Renoir and
Lichtenstein plus many temporary exhibits as they tour the U.S.

Conservatory at Bellagio
The Conservatory at Bellagio features elegant, elaborate
arrangements of plants and flowers in its bright, airy atrium. The
Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens changes the theme of
its displays five times a year, closing to the public for a week,
whilst about 100 people from both the Bellagio's horticulture and
engineering departments work round the clock to execute the
seasonal plans, making use of cranes and a tunnel system underneath
the conservatory. This free exhibit has a range of themes for its
horticultural displays including Chinese New Year, Spring
Celebration, Summer Garden Party, Harvest and Holiday and are on
display 24 hours a day. Flowers and plants for the conservatory are
shipped in from all over the nation and are temporarily kept
off-site in an enormous greenhouse until ready for display. Even
though the selected flowers and plants thrive in the Conservatory's
ideal climate, they are replaced and refreshed every two weeks -
and many are hand-watered, a daunting task in this enormous and
magnificent atrium

Lion Habitat at MGM Grand
The
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino has created a one-of-a-kind Lion
Habitat as a showcase for this awe-inspiring and majestic creature.
Nestled in the heart of the MGM Grand, the lions are clearly the
kings of this neon jungle. Separated from the lions by just a pane
of glass, visitors can stand only inches away and be in awe of
these beautiful cats. When they're not on show at the MGM, the
lions live on an 8.5 acre ranch located 12 miles out of the city.
They are looked after by exotic animal trainer and conservationist
Keith Evans who has over 30 years experience with these wonderful
animals. The lions are washed and groomed before being transported
in a specially designed van to the MGM Grand each day. Rotated in
and out of the exhibit throughout the day, the lions are only kept
in the habitat for six hours at a time and although only several
lions are on display at any one time, there are 31 living at the
ranch in total. Trainers give presentations regularly but it is
largely dependent on the activity level of the felines. If you are
lucky, you may see the trainers hand-feeding the lions or
participating in some playtime.

Mandalay Bay Shark Reef
The Shark Reef at
Mandalay Bay is home to some of the marine world's most
fascinating creatures in North America's only predator-based
aquarium and exhibit. View a variety of sharks, along with sawfish,
giant rays, endangered green sea turtles, piranha, moon jellies and
the rare golden crocodiles. In total, there are over 2,000 animals
in this exhibit containing an impressive 1.6 million gallons of
seawater. Education and conservation is very important at this
attraction, a water-recycling facility and the implementation of
imitation coral just two of the ways in which they are setting a
good example in terms of protecting our planet's natural
resources.

Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden & Dolphin

get to the real thing; a spectacle of fire, light, and faux-lava
explosions that brighten the night sky and which are synchronised
with tribal music influenced and embodied by the physical and
spiritual stories and myths associated with volcanic activity
through civilisations past. Located in front of the
Mirage hotel, this is one of the most popular attractions on
the Strip and a real family favourite. The volcano erupts hourly

Atomic Testing Museum
In the 1950s, the primary nuclear test-site in the US was just
outside Las Vegas and visitors would travel to the downtown area to
view the mushroom clouds that would rise from the Nevada Test Site.
The site was the premier nuclear testing facility in the U.S. and
started operations in 1951 until its closure in 1992. Located not
far from the Strip, the Atomic Testing Museum traces the history of
the facility and the atomic age, both good and bad in an
entertaining, and emotional manner. The exhibit also touches on the
Cold War and includes a fragment of the Berlin Wall. The museum can
be found at the Frank H. Rogers Science and Technology building,
just a mile off the Las Vegas Strip and is well worth a visit.

The World's Largest Golden Nugget
In Downtown Las Vegas, you can view the largest golden nugget in
the world at the
Golden Nugget Hotel Casino. In the spring of 1980, an
Australian named Kevin Hillier took his new metal detector out near
his tiny hometown of Wedderburn in Australia. Before the day was
out he'd unearthed a golden nugget weighing 27kg, barely a foot
underground. The 'Hand of Faith' as it has been named is the
biggest golden nugget in existence, the second-biggest ever
discovered and was sold by its finder to the Golden Nugget for over
a million dollars where it is on view to the public 24 hours a
day.

Grand Canal Shopping complex instantly transporting you to the
Venice of Italy.

Free Casino Gaming Lessons
If you are planning to try your luck in one of the many casinos
whilst on your holiday to Las Vegas, these 30 or so minute classes
are both fun and educational and in most cases, completely free! So
why would the casinos want to teach you how to play, for free?
Because they want you to gamble more, of course! These free casino
gaming lessons are good for both beginners and the more experienced
players who want to brush up on the rules. Casinos generally offer
instruction in blackjack, craps, roulette, mini-baccarat and poker.
Not only do the lessons teach you the rules of the game, but they
also initiate you into the etiquette and jargon that is associated
with each game. Taking a lesson will give you the confidence you
need to enjoy yourself in the casino without worrying that you are
doing something wrong. The best way to find out what gaming lessons
are on offer and at what time is to check with a casino directly
but you'll find that most of them offer lessons at certain times
throughout the day. Some that definitely offer lessons for novices
are
Caesars Palace,
Golden Nugget,
Las Vegas Hilton,
Luxor,
MGM Grand,
Monte Carlo and
Riviera.

The Fremont Street Experience
Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas is a pedestrianised street
with its own nightly show - The Fremont Street Experience. The
length of the street is covered with a canopy of LED lights turning
it into a sort of shopping precinct that links together a total of
ten casinos. At night a heart-thumping sound system comes alive
with eye-popping visuals backdropped by the neon of the casinos. A
huge light-show takes place on the Viva Vision screen, which is one
of the largest screens in the world. Featuring a phenomenal 12
million lights accompanied by hundreds of thousands of wattage
blasted through the sound system, the show is a breathtaking, heart
pounding affair. Each free show lasts for roughly ten minutes and
starts at 15 minute intervals from dusk until midnight.

in the M&M's style! The second floor features a rainbow wall
showcasing 22 different M&M's colours plus a wide selection of
sweets dispensers and T-shirts amongst other exhibits. On the third

M&M's guitar and a fine collection of bags made from actual
M&M's wrappers. On the fourth floor there are home and travel
items such as suitcases, furnishings, home décor and even
pull-overs for your cat or dog. There's also a replica of Kyle
Busch's #18 M&M's sponsored race car.
