Las Vegas holiday tips
Here are our Las Vegas Holiday tips to make sure you get the most from your dream vacation:
Know When to Visit
Hotel rooms can be pricey at the weekend, so if you are planning a
short break then it could be more cost effective to visit during
the week. Talk to one of our agents at Low Cost Las Vegas to find
out the best time to visit and book a
cheap holiday to Las Vegas.
Player's Cards
Many
casinos offer free Player's Club membership that enables you to
earn valuable rewards from the games you play. Which rewards you
can earn with your new Player's Card depends on what casino you are
in, but offers typically include discounted shows, meals, rooms and
more!
Remember to Tip
Tipping practices in the States are different to Europe. Almost all
workers in the service industry expect a tip, including dealers and
cocktail waitresses in the casinos. When eating in restaurants,
generous tipping is customary and you may be confronted if you do
not leave a satisfactory tip.
Getting Around
There are various ways to get around Las Vegas. Taxis aren't
allowed to stop directly on the Strip, so you'll need to find a
taxi rank in a nearby hotel. The Las Vegas Monrail runs roughly
parallel to the Strip on its eastern side. Starting at the
MGM Grand in the south and making 5 subsequent stops, including
one at the Convention Center, before arriving at the
Sahara Hotel & Casino in the north approximately 15 minutes
later, Plans are under way to extend the monorail system further
south all the way to McCarran Airport and this extension is hoped
to be operational by 2012. Buses also provide a cheap form of
transport, with services running the entire Strip as well as the
Downtown area. Sometimes when traffic is bad, it is best to simply
walk. The Strip is four miles long and can be walked in under two
hours.
Cheap Tickets for Shows
There are booths along the Strip that offer cheap tickets to many
of the
biggest shows in Vegas. If you are stuck for something to do,
take a look at what's on offer and you could get up to 50% off the
regular price of the show tickets!
Gamble Sensibly
It seems like obvious advice, but you should never bet more than
you can afford to lose. You can manage your gambling sessions by
budgeting even amounts of money for each game and only taking that
sum with you. If you are fortunate enough to win big, make sure you
put some of it away - do not just add it all back to your gambling
kitty for the next day!
